Buddee Bottles Launches In South Africa
Buddee Bottles is a full range of sustainable, durable and affordable double-walled flasks and insulated bottles. They have recently been introduced into South Africa, and the man behind it all is former WQS surfer and perennial south coast ripper Gavin Roberts.
Roberts recognised that there was a job on hand of keeping single-use plastics out of the ocean, and realised that reusable bottles will go a long way to helping this task.
“I’m a sales rep, and I spend almost every day of the week visiting my clients, and I like to keep hydrated on the road,” said Roberts. “So I consistently found myself stopping at a service station and buying bottled water to keep hydrated, and soon after throwing the bottle in the bin.”

While Robert’s previous single-use plastic behaviour might be considered normal by some, there is a growing trend and louder voices making a determined effort to curb single-use plastics worldwide.
“I realised this single-use practice is so unnecessary, and reusable bottles would be a much better option.”
Having a reusable bottle at home, or while on the road, can go a long way to limiting single-use purchasing and will definitely save money.
“My goal with Buddee bottles is about trying to protect the ocean, and keep single-use plastics out of the ocean,” said Roberts.” By making reusable bottles more easily accessible and affordable to all South Africans, we can be one step closer to achieving the goal.”

The bottles come in a range of colours and are available in 500ml, 530ml, 650ml and 960ml options. The smaller bottles have the smaller 35mm lids, while the larger options have 45mm and 55 wide-mouth lids to keep you #happilyhydrated. The bottles keep drinks cold for 12 hours, and hot for 6 hours.
